Life Lately

2018 has taken off at lighting speed.  We've been busy with school, college planning, Soccer, and planning for an upcoming Spring Break trip.

Gray is really enjoying playing soccer for the high school.  She doesn't love practicing every day after school, but is getting used to it.  Practice is always better when you have adorable visitors. . .

Gray and P after their first Northside High School soccer game.

We celebrated Valentines day.  My sweet co-worker got me my favorite treat from GiGi's Cupcakes.

And for the first time ever, Tanner bought me flowers and the sweetest card.  I know it did not cost him a lot, but the fact that he thought of me and spent his own money to make me feel special is something I will never forget.  That boy has my heart!

More Soccer.   She is keeping us busy with games every Tuesday and Thursday night.  And sometimes Mondays and Fridays.

Winners.  The team record is currently 4-0.  Go Rams!

A couple of Saturdays ago we had a private tour set up with one of Tanner's friends at Delta State University.  We all loved the campus, and Josh was so great to give up his Saturday morning to meet with us.  However, Tanner has decided to stay home for the first two years and just attend the local community college.  He is just not ready to be so far away from home and all of his friends.  It is almost a 4 hour drive from home to Delta State.  He slept all the way there and all the way back on that dreary Saturday.

I'm not going to lie.  I want Tanner to experience some things away from home and outside of Tuscaloosa, but I'm not too upset to have him home for a couple more years.

Right now we are working on the trip for Spring Break.  We plan to spend just a couple of days in Helen, GA hiking and exploring.  We are planning Gray's birthday party, she will turn 14 on March 17th.  And I am right in the middle of designing Graduation invitations for my boy.  Cap and Gown pictures are this week at school.  Senior trip is booked and paid for.  It's all happening whether this mom is ready or not.

Life Lately

We are still getting used to the fact that it is 2018.  2018 is the year that my oldest will graduate high school and become a legal adult.  It feels like since school has started back that we are on the fast track to graduation.  We will be ordering invitations for the graduation ceremony as soon as the board of education finalizes a date for us.  We just paid for the Senior trip.  I'm planning an eighteenth birthday celebration.  It is just becoming more real every day.

Here's a little photo update for what we have been up to since Christmas.  On the last day of the year Bobby reached his cycle goal.  He started riding this year, and just fell in love with it.  In August, he started tracking his rides.  He made a goal of 1000 miles, and reached that on the final day of the year.

My top nine Instagram photos voted on by "the people".  I love that my 2017 was full of special moments with the people I love the most.

Winter Selfie game with Gray. . . .

Both kids got a new bedroom suit for Christmas.  I don't have pictures of Tanners, but I got some of Gray's.  She is over the moon about being out of a twin bed and into a Queen.

I got a Ninja for Christmas.  So I am trying out all the Green smoothie recipes.  So far, I have had some really good ones.

Snapped a photo of Gray on the gloomy first day back to school.  First day of her last semester of Middle School.

Life Lately

This is a look at Life Lately.  The Summer edition.

I'll say it again, this Summer is flying by at lighting speed.  We've been trying to soak up as much of the lazy days as we can.

As normal we are spending a lot of time on the lake with friends and family.

Back in early June Bobby and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary.  We had dinner at Nicks in the Sticks.  Went for tea from Starbucks, and had a doughnut at Krispy Kreme.  Oh, and he took me to Barnes and Noble to drool over book covers.  It was the perfect date night.

We've been hiking a couple different times.  It is almost just too hot to hike right now.  But the good news is, I think I've got Bobby hooked on this new hobby of mine.  He has also been riding his bike each afternoon and is really enjoying it.  I have started taking Yoga classes twice a week and I LOVE it.  We are both intentionally trying to be more active and try some new things.  So far, so good.

While we were in Birmingham about a week ago, I had Bobby run us by the Light tunnel down near Railroad Park.  I have wanted to go take pictures of Gray in the tunnel for a while now, but did not want to go by ourselves.  It's a pretty cool light display and makes for some really pretty photos.

That's what we have been up to.  Just a lot of relaxing, a lot of fun with friends, time with family, and resting before we get back into the hustle of a new school year.

Life Lately -January

I am never up to date posting on the blog.  So, here's a little Life Lately post, January edition.

My girl and I on the way home from shopping.

Bobby has an annual sales meeting for work each year in Brenham, TX.  This year they had a free night, so they took a little drive to explore Austin.  I was a little jealous. :(

We celebrated our nephews 7th birthday with Mexican.

Played loads of basketball. . .

Attended the Nerf battle for our nephew.

More basketball watching. . .

Bobby and I had a mini date night and he ran me by Starbucks for a treat.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but honestly January is long gone.  This year has flown by in a flash and Summer is already upon us!!  Maybe I can do a better job on my Life Lately post atleast.  We will see.

Life Lately

What have we been up to lately?  Just like everyone else we are in holiday mode.  Things seem to be so busy this time of year.  I always feel like December is the shortest month of the year.

We had a great laid back Thanksgiving day.  We always go to my in laws for dinner.  This year we had my sister in law try to capture a family picture of my bunch to use for the Christmas card.  She did a great job.

The grand kids with their Nana and Paw Paw.  Just missing a few cousins.

And all of us. :)

After dinner we ran into Gander Mountain so Bobby could do a little "Black Friday" shopping on Thursday.  Gray always finds a way to entertain herself.

I have the tree up and the mantle decorated.  I decided to keep it very low key this year and not get out all the decorations.  The clutter makes me crazy these days.  Other than this, I have a strand of lights on the entry table and that is all.

Last weekend we decorated Christmas cookies.  We've been watching all the Hallmark Christmas movies.  And continue to steadily work through my list of must do/see Christmas activities.

Basketball season is in full swing.

Kobe is still owning the place.

This past Saturday Gray had a birthday party at the bowling alley.  We made a quick stop by Starbucks for treats on the way.  *Note to self:  Gray does not like Starbucks hot chocolate.
But isn't she a cutie?!?

Life Lately

Life has been busy around here lately.  We have so many things going on with School, work, and just everyday life.  I wouldn't trade it for anything though.  The highlights?  Well, at the top of the list. . .

We got a new baby.  Back at the beginning of August we brought Kobe home.  I have tons of pictures and will have to share a Kobe series soon.  He has made him self at home and fits perfectly into our family.  He is quite a handful, and is growing like a weed.

Football season just ended this past Thursday night.  This was Tanner's first year to play, and he really enjoyed it.  He has learned a lot and will be ready for Spring Training when it comes around again.  We have stayed with Friday night lights each week.  Honestly, I don't care much about football, but theres  just something special about high school football.  I am so glad he decided to play.

This year has also brought another new sport for Tanner.  He joined the cross country team, and also plans to participate with the track & field team.  Cross Country is HARD.  Those kids are really phenomenal.  It takes so much hard work and dedication, and they are FAST.  Tanner has a long way to go, but he is holding his own.  I couldn't be more proud of him for trying some new things.

The boys went to the plains to watch some Auburn Tiger football.  This was Tanner's first trip to Auburn.  They went to the Auburn/LSU game and it was a good one.  Tanner had so much fun and is now addicted to the game day experience.

Gray got contacts.  She has been wanting to get them for a while, but I didn't know if she would be responsible enough to keep up with everything.  So far she is doing pretty well.

And she grew up overnight.  I can't even think about how mature she will look when she has her braces taken off in March.  She was my date to a wedding just last night and she just takes my breath away.
