Pretty in Pink

As you all know, babyG took a spill at school on Monday. She headed off to school yesterday morning refusing to wear her sling, and dealing with a very worried mommy. She did great though, and I only emailed her teacher 100 times. She left school early to make it to her appointment at the orthopedic clinic. And to no one's surprise, she came home in a cast. A very bold neon pink cast at that!
Babyg is one proud chic right now. She is the first one in her class to be sportin' a cast. She is SO COOL!!
Not only is she the cool girl in class with a neon pink cast, but she also gets to skip P.E.
Today she stayed in with her teacher and she was allowed to play some rhyming word games on the computer. She does not mind getting special attention.
This is what the cast looked like after a day spent with sharpie happy kindergarten friends. Somehow she managed to find room around MY ginormous words for all of her classmates and her teacher to sign their names.
Now we are all looking forward to a no drama weekend. Tomorrow night we are having a backyard bond fire and making smores. . . . .YUMMY!! Saturday night we will be playing football on our home field, finally no more travel games. And next week I am off work ALL WEEK. I am really looking forward to some time off, and have alot of projects and task planned to keep me busy. I am not so happy that I am being FORCED to take this week unpaid, due to the economy. But I am thankful for my job and I know it could be alot worse. So I am going to take the time and make the most of it!
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

BabyG + Monkey Bars = Disaster

Long time, no blog huh? I don't guess it has been that long really, but it sure feels like it. We have been pretty busy with the day to day business around here. Today's big news is all babyG. Yesterday during P.E. she fell off the monkey bars and hurt her left arm. She went to see the school nurse, and they checked to see if she could move it, and then sent her on her way. When her daddy picked her up she was crying and complaining with pain. By the time I got home from work she was doing alot better. I looked at her arm and it looked fine, and she was playing like normal. At about 8:30pm I noticed that her arm was a little swollen around her elbow. We talked about it and decided that if it was hurting when she woke up this morning, that we would go for an X-ray.
BabyG was up ALL NIGHT crying in pain! She finally fell asleep around 4:00 this morning. It was a HORRIBLE night!!! We were at the clinic down the street when they opened the doors. They did a few x-rays, but they did not see a break. Let me just tell you that as of this morning babyG's arm was HUGE!!! And she can barely move it!! Although, she could not see anything on the x-ray, the doctor thinks it may be fractured from the looks of things. They have scheduled us an appointment with an Orthopedic Specialist tomorrow.
Here's a shot of my girl, not really wanting to pose for a picture. Poor baby!! We spent the biggest part of the day kicking, screaming, and crying! I finally called the doctor back and they called in a prescription for pain meds. Things are much calmer around here now.
This was a rare moment of babyG not crying today. The weather was beautiful and we played outside for a few minutes. She can't decide if she thinks the arm sling is cool or annoying.
Currently, she is relaxing on the couch watching Monsters vs. Aliens, enjoying the effects of her pain medication, and resting her arm on the heating pad. Maybe tonight will be a better night!

In other happenings Big10 and Daddy are out of town playing football tonight. I hate that I am missing it, we've got some serious cool fall football weather going on outside!! Tonight's game is a rescheduled time that was rained out this past Saturday. We haven't played in two weeks due to all this rain.

So, that's what I've been up to this week. How is your week going?

The worst bruise EVER!!!

Tonight Big10 and I were cuddling and getting ready for bed, and I suddenly remembered I needed to "doctor" the cut on his arm from last Saturday's game. When I went to put the Neosporin on the cut, this is what I saw. . . . . .
Can you see that bruise? Yes, it is the biggest bruise EVER!!! Poor baby, he told me that this happened at Tuesday night's practice. And I am just now noticing it??? Go ahead and call me awful. Bless his heart, it hurts SO bad!!
Tomorrow I am sending Daddy to Academy to pick up some of those arm guard thingies!!
