Little Gray is my reckless kid. She really normally thinks about how fun or awesome something will be, rather than how dangerous it will be. She is naturally carefree and clumsy, which doesn't help things a bit.
She is recovering from her broken arm. It was a beautiful Saturday that started out great. It was one of the first days that it was warm enough for shorts, so she and her girlfriends were out playing all day.
Late that afternoon, she was in the front yard and took a few steps backward, (not watching where she was going, of course.) and tripped over one of her brothers basketballs. She fell just the right way and broke her arm right above her left elbow.
FLASHBACK to her first break in kindergarten when she took a nasty fall from the monkey bars.
This time it was a little worse, and she was in a lot of pain. Here she is waiting at the clinic to get an X-ray.
After a dose of pain medicine and a splint, she was feeling more like taking a photo for mom.
The following Monday we went to see the Orthopedic surgeon for another check, and a real cast. This Monday was St. Patricks Day, and Gray's tenth birthday.
She chose another neon color for her cast. Some things never change. The girl likes to be noticed.
Bless her little heart, she was hurting so bad all day. We still celebrated with a few gifts and GiGi's Cupcakes that night.
One more week passed and we headed back to the Orthopedic clinic for another X-ray. Things were progressing well. And we were enjoying Spring Break.
She finally got the cast removed after a couple if weeks and downgraded to a soft removable cast and sling. All is well now, besides the fact that her arm is incredibly crooked!! It just adds to her character.
