Our little family had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve we went to to MIL's house to spend a little time with them. As usual, the kids got way more than they needed, but they loved all of their gifts. I got new PJ's and I haven't taken them off yet! We decided to change up the routine and instead of the traditional Christmas meal, we had Pizza. It was stress free and easy, and the kids couldn't have been happier.
Afterwards, we made a couple of last minute stops to pick up a few things for our Christmas day meal. And then we headed home to exchange gifts with the kids. Make cookies, and put out the food for the reindeer.
Big10 took this picture of me & the hubs in front of the tree. I always forget to get pictures of the two of us together. This Christmas was our 17th Christmas together.
I love how excited my kids get about buying gifts for each other. They really try to top one another, and want so bad for the gift that they chose to be the favorite gift of the year. They both made really good choices this time around.
BabyG got Big10 one of those necklaces that all the kids are wearing these days.
And big10 gave G her first BB gun. In Pink, of course!
They received a few small gifts from us. The usual gifts that they get every year. Bath sets, PJ's, and ornaments. And this time, we gave them both two big gifts. G specifically requested a big gift from us, but was not sure if we had bought it or not. Big10 had no idea what we had for him. It was wrapped in a big box with lots of packing peanuts, so he could not shake it or guess what it was. The look on his face when he opened it was PRICELESS!
All of his friends have had cell phones for years. We have told him continually that he was not allowed to have a phone until he turned 15. Because he just doesn't need one. But we gave in. I gave in and pretty much convinced the hubby to let me have my way. Big10 was so excited! I would do it a million times over if I could. The first night he sent about 80 text messages!
G was equally excited about her IPod 4. She LOVES it, and has not put it down yet. She is really taking advantage of the Face time option and chatting with her friends all the time.
While waiting on her dad to open it for her, she just couldn't contain herself. She said she thought she might cry!
Christmas morning was a hit as well. Santa didn't bring any big, exciting gifts. But he did bring pretty much every thing they asked for. Santa did not really have a chance at topping the gifts from Mom & Dad this year. Maybe next year big guy!
