Snow Day {2/9/11}

Nevermind the fact that it has taken me nearly a whole week to upload these pictures to the blog. . . .it snowed!!  Last Wednesday night we had some really pretty snow on the ground.  Just about 2" in my neck of the woods.

This is what it looked like at 9:00 pm Wednesday night.  G was begging to go out & play, and I finally agreed for her to go out just for a few minutes.  I am so thankful that I did.  The snow was dry and not too wet or icy, so the roads were fine for regularly scheduled school hours on Thursday morning.

So what do you do when it snows in the South?  Stay up past your bedtime and build snowmen in the dark with friends!

Big10 just happened to have a root canal on the same day, so he did not feel like playing in the snow that night.  Besides standing on the porch and watching it fall, he had NO. INTEREST. AT. ALL. in the snow.

I almost feel silly blogging about this now.  This week has been in the high 60's and beautiful.  I think yesterdays high was 71!!  Spring is definitely in the air!

We've already got out our baseball equipment.  We only have two more basketball games to be played, and then we are on our way to Spring!

Winter Storm 2011

So the southern winter storm has come & gone. (almost gone) We are on our second weather day for school.  The roads are still a bit icy in certain areas of the county, but I feel sure that school will be back in tomorrow.

We saw a lot of snow falling throughout the day Sunday and on into the night, but we woke up to ice only. :(

However, this is the first winter weather since I purchased my DSLR, so babyG and I ventured out Monday morning to take a few photos.
