Editing Fun

As much as I have blogged about it in the past week, you are all well aware that I want to produce better photographs.  I realize getting the look that I want in my photos is going to have a lot to do with the editing process.  I joined Pinterest this week, and it has not helped the situation.  I am so drawn to the soft vintage glowing photos that I see everywhere.  I am more motivated than ever before.

Today I decided to download Gimp editing software until I get to the point that I think I know what I'm doing.  And at that point, I'll get Photoshop.  Maybe!!

So, when I tried the software it confirmed that I really have no idea what I am doing.  I have edited two photos, and these were my results. . .
On the one above, I do not even have an original copy.  The only one I had was edited in Picasa and put on the blog earlier in the week.  So, I decided to go back a ways and get an untouched photo for editing.
I can't believe the little girl in the picture below is BabyG.  This was almost exactly one year ago.
And just because I Love how this Photo glows. . . .
I wanted to post it BIG just for me.
I need some honest feedback on what you think.  I plan to watch some tutorials on layering in YouTube when I am done with all my housework. (If EVER!)
Maybe if I can master that element, I can produce some entertainment for you here on the old blog.  :)

Have a great weekend!

I think that last photo just may be my very favorite of Baby G!

Editing has been hard for me to learn, but I think it is so worth it!

This post reminds me that I have not responded to your email yet. I'm sorry. I'm off to do that right now.
