Kitchen Updates

I don't really know how many people saw the post I did for Kelly's Korner Kitchen tours, but this is directly related. I have had a large picture hanging in my kitchen for the past 7 years that I have never really liked. It was just there to fill in the space. I have been trying to decide what I would like to do with that space for a while now. When I came across this cute black shelf, I decided I would put it in that space in the kitchen. It has been hanging for a week now and I am just starting to add accessories. I guess I just need to buy something to go on the shelf!! The picture of sweet TB is the only thing that is staying. My white bowls have already found their way back to the china cabinet. Anyhow, I love this shelf!! It has such a rustic look. I found this at a store called The Attic here in T-town. The best part is it was only $19.00!! Perfect for my decorating budget. . . .

I think this little bird basket is going to find it's home on my front porch tomorrow.



What do you think? Do you have any ideas for accessories here? I thought about possibly some decorative plates? I still like the idea of hanging some plates and/or platters directly above the shelf as well. Let me know if you guys have any ideas!!!
